About Angels

Civilizations of many different faiths have long believed in the existence of angels. In every period of pre-Christian history, angels are at the service of the Chosen People. Over the course of human history, different religions and cultures have had many ideas about angels, but few have doubted their existence. The faith of the Church recognizes not only the existence of the angels, but certain distinctive characteristics of their nature.

The angels have the highest role in the providential plan. Like earlier cultures, many believe that angels are all around them, ready to aid and guide them should the need arrise. The long standing belief is that angels take part in the final judgment with God, and as a result they are interested in human life.
